The pop and dance elements that echoed all over Sonic Colors, with a dash of electronic at times, was the popular musical staple of the 2010s - or at least the early part of the decade. The original Sonic Colors soundtrack featured more pop and dance sounds and less rock riffs, which may be heard in Asteroid Coaster. While the Sonic Colors Ultimate: Recolors soundtrack will be a musical delight to many Sonic fans, my ears begged to differ to Sega's statement on the inclusion of rock. The Sonic Generations soundtrack remixed a medley of only the most popular tracks from across the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Sonic Colors Ultimate is the first Sonic remaster to receive a soundtrack with remixes of all the original songs. "It's a colorful mix of elements, like pop, rock, and dance." "Enjoy the musicality of this album," Sega wrote in the statement. The Recolors soundtrack will also feature new tracks from the new Rival Mode, as well as some Genius-style variety commentary from the remixers in the album booklet. The rest of the tracks from the action stages and boss battle stages will be remixed with all manner of arrangements and additional recordings. Additionally, the original version of the Sonic Colors theme song and its orchestra will be re-recorded as a remastered sound source.
